Mishandled Archive: Performance

"A compelling project, casting a spell of connection between strangers in locations around the world, from London to Tehran, Newcastle to Zurich.”

Tim Etchells, Artist and Director of Forced Entertainment

Mishandled Archive live performance is a collaboration between Tara Fatehi Irani and experimental musician and sound artist Pouya Ehsaei. The performance takes place within an installation made of the 365 photographs from the project. Working with local guest performers and alongside music composed and played live by Ehsaei, Fatehi Irani tells several stories from the archive that tread in between fact, fantasy, horrors and dreams. Using the dance scores created in Mishandled Archive, she performs dances for and with the audience, creating a vibrant space where the audience are fully immersed and engaged in moving, talking and making the piece with the performers.
